What is the challenge? |
Previously, when a workflow approval was created, the members of an approval group were populated in the "Assigned to" field of the to-do. Recently, the "Approval group" field was added to workflow approvals. This field, however, is not populated automatically when a workflow approval is created. |
What is the impact? |
The current behavior can create a bit of confusion when an approval is assigned to a set group of users and requires all approvals from those users. Calling out that the approval is assigned to the group can help bring some clarify. |
Describe your idea |
Ideally, a workflow approval would also populate the "Approval group" in addition to the "Assigned to" field. |
To add a comment to this, the reason why it matters is because if you use "Assigned To:" to add individual users to an approval, the list can be easily modified by any user with access. This creates a security/access problem if you only want certain users to be allowed to Approve the item when using workflows.
I would also really like this functionality. I learned today that anyone can just add their name to the list of approvers, then approve the record. Why is this even allowed?
