As releases are usually bounded by e.g. development capacity, or certain themes (marketing message) it should be possible to close a release if capacity is reached.
Closing means that the "owner" of the release can indicate that no more features c...

In Gantt view add an owner in each task in the Gantt chart
Today the Gantt chart view is very basic as you do not know who is the owner of the line items in Gantt chart view. Also the ability to add "to-do" in the gantt chart tasks.

Many actions on Release Planning module in Develop prompt you to add a release
This is more of a bug--whenever I take most actions on the Release Planning screen under Plan, or often even when I jump into the page to start with, I'm given a prompt to add a new release when I didn't ask to do that.

Click Release to get to release detail instead of always going to the gantt chart
You have to dig hard to find where the release phases and milestones are listed. I still don't know how to get there directly, I just have to find a Details on the open release to get there.

It would be very useful to allow creation of releases without dates so that PMs can experiment with release buckets of features before adding release dates. This way it would not give incorrect release dates to stakeholders.

As a user planning a release, I want to have my release phases overlapping finish-to-finish with a lag time defined so the dependencies maintain the overlap that is initially set with the dependency so that I can more realistically represent the o...

Ability to remove Release Date (internal) - change of plans is the reason for wanting to remove the date (for now) so that I could articulate that this is not scheduled in for the short term, rather than push the date out.
