We want to set up a Ideas portal as a helpdesk tool for our customers, so we have to prevent customers seeing ideas from other customers.
We want a requester to create a portal account (not a employee or partner). But the only way to let this user see his own ideas in the portal is setting visibiltiy to "Visible for anyone".
That way his idea is also visible for other customers and vice versa.
Please could you add an option on portal level like "keep ideas private"? With that option enabled, all users only can see their own ideas. Only users with "employee / partner" level should see then other uses ideas.
We are going to reopen this idea and consider better addressing this need in the future. It is very similar to another idea in our portal, so we will merge it with that one.
I don't see the functionality to mark an idea as private. How do I do that?
Thanks for your reply. But that is not what we need, our customers have to see the list with their own ideas (tickets) and the possibility to comment on that ideas.
I think the problem can be solved very easy by adding one thype in visibility list: "visible by employees, partners and requester". That way the requester can see only his own ideas in portal.
In idea portal settings it then should be nice to set the default visibiliy, so we can prevent ideas to be created with visibility Anyone.
You are almost there to let us setup ideas portal as support / ticket system, please could you add the requested feature? Otherwise I have to create some hacks on CSS / Javascript level to force showing only own Ideas, but that is not 100% secured.
Thanks for reviewing this idea again,
Jan Rutger
I think our problem is solved when you change the visibility option "Visible to employees and partners" a little bit. The idea should then be visible to the requester also in Ideas portal.
Posting new ticket from portal should have this visibility by default, but if not, we can make a work around for this. Most requests are created by email.
