Allow more customization of Idea visibility
We would like the ability to modify select groups of idea visibility on creation. At the moment, we have the default approach or the ability to change how all ideas come in. I would like to be able to change the default visibility of each group's ideas individually.
- Aha Users
- Employees and Partners
- Public users
The use case for this is that we have a lot of Aha! users with read only access who want submit ideas like employees. But when they submit an idea it comes in as "Not visible in Portals". We want to keep the ability to differentiate between Public and Private ideas, just bump up Aha users so that their ideas are created as Private. We also want to avoid creating multiple portals to avoid confusion.

Good news! We added more options for controlling idea visibility in your portal.
Automatically set the visibility of new ideas based on who submitted the idea - a portal user, internal user, or Aha! user. Configure this in your portal's settings under Overview > Type > Visibility.
We also added a new 'Visible to creator' option that allows only the idea submitter to view their idea in the portal and receive notification emails.
We would like that Employee's and Partners are differentiated / split out as 2 separate parameters. We want our partners to raise ideas. We want our Employee's to raise ideas. But we do not want our partners to view these ideas by default (we may promote them and enable them for partners to see, but that needs to be a conscious choice). We have toy'd with Public Vs Private; but we do not want public access to the ideas portal.
At the very least, I want to be able to ensure that ideas that are written by Aha users in the create ideas layout can be made required. I set the field as required, but because it's a radio button with a default, I cannot force the value to be set when creating the idea. If it was a blank drop down on that form I expect it would work too.
We would like to set the default visibility for the ideas submitted in Aha! directly as well.
You are currently able to default visibility in the Portal but not for Ideas being submitted in Aha! directly. This is wasting a lot of time troubleshooting visibility/voting/merging errors
