Allow admin to change idea contributor
Old habits die hard, and as head of product I continue to receive lots of ideas by email and other channels. I would like to be able to add these ideas to the ideas portal on behalf of the person who sent it.
For ideas sent to me via email, I would like to be able to forward the email to the ideas portal, and then change the contributor - from me to the person who sent me the email.
For ideas sent by other means, there are two possible solutions:
- Impersonate / assume the user's identity in the portal and add the idea as them
- Better: Add the idea myself, but have the ability to set the 'contributor' as the other person
This would ensure that they get credit for the idea, and that they receive all notifications of activity on the idea.

I've tested this and all looks to be working correctly. I know responding to suggestions immediately isn't always possible but I really appreciate the responsiveness to the comment I posted on the 23rd. Thank you!
We agree, this was an oversight. I have updated the site to auto vote and subscribe(If an idea portal user).
Right, I was surprised to see the votes not increase either. That's really the main point of assuming the identity of the original poster.
I've just tested this and although I can change the creator, the person I change it to isn't marked as voting or subscribing to this idea. This is the main objective of this new feature and this implementation is missing this.

absolutely need this. Trying to use ideas for my product idea portal but this is the one issue that holding me back from using it. I still get a lot of email requests which when forwarded to the portal all show up as from me. When i merge the idea the votes tally do not increment and is not reflected on the portal page for viewers. I will have to rely on creating a manual counter which would be hidden from everyone.
I think this would be of great use, especially seeing that Aha could put it to use for their own client requests in the ideas portal!
