When I'm relating releases back to product strategy, I would like to create a relationship to Product Line initiatives, so I don't have to re-create the same initiatives for all products in a product family.
Currently, product releases can be linked to product-level initiatives. This allows you to link your strategy at the product level to you specific releases.
We also provide the ability to roll up product level initiatives to product line initiatives to allow you to see the full realm of strategy across the portfolio.
This is designed in this manner to allow each level of your product and company to have its own strategy, and allow them to roll up the hierarchy.
At this time, based on current priorities and rationale noted above, we are unlikely to make changes in this area. We hope you can understand.
And another caveat: product initiatives that roll up to product line initiatives won't show "below" in the initiative roadmap, so they appear as different ones.
Similarly, as we are expanding our footprint in Aha, I've created a product line to group mulitple products. It would be preferrable to define initiatives at the product line level and then reference those from the consituent product features and releases. I can do that for features, but not for releases. The result is that the portfolio view doesn't show swimlanes for any of the products.
I need this as well! Due to the integration with JIRA i am aplying does not use initiatives as Epics. Therefore it would be great to be able to link product releases to product line initiatives.
