Aha! is an incredibly amazing and powerful too... and it's too much. There are loads of tools, and variants of roadmaps. Too much.
I would be interesting in a minimalist tool set so that it is very easy for my users (who are not necessarily tech savvy) can set up and maintain simple roadmaps that go out to various audience members.
Tools that I would want:
Display a small picture, as well as a short description of my product
Ability to turn on/off products that I want to view at any time.
Easy to modify dates.
Ability to group products into a set/collection/product line
Ability to change the timeline scale (Months or Quarters or Days)
Ability to visually see phases/milestones (The roadmap timeline color changes between phases; have markers for major milestones.
Ability to set End of Life/Phase Out as a part of the roadmap
If I click on the product/phase/milestone, I am able to see 1 level deeper with more detailed information (and I don't want more!)
OR*** Ability to hotlink a product to a main page (Box Link?)
Rest API
Thank you for your idea. As you mentioned, Aha! is a comprehensive product built for the most important aspect of your business: the strategic product roadmap. We would recommend the Starter roadmap as a simple way to get started. The best part is that the Starter roadmap is tied to the rest of the Aha! data model so as features are updated your roadmap will be updated automatically.
We are dedicated to continuing to make using Aha! easier, but we are unlikely to offer a "Lite" version. We hope you can understand.
Ability to set End of Life/Phase Out as a part of the roadmap - This would be very good. To be able to make product life time and consider this a total strategies as new one replaces old one.
I found it useful to limit the options for navigation, which you can configure per product and per product line.
