We work with partners to help us develop products (external development team) and we want them to have access to Aha and the ability to respond to Todos and Comments. Today, if you are a viewer or reviewer, you see the offering you are assigned along with the product lines above. We only want them to be able to view the offering we assign them to, not the product lines above.
Thank you for your idea. The current behavior that you described here provides users with a way to navigate through the hierarchy to get to products they have access to.
Given the historical support of this idea and other priorities we are unlikely to make changes here at this time. However we will continue to monitor feedback on this idea.
I've also worked with a few companies with a need for this behaviour.
The hiearchy dropdown could still be used for navigating the hierarchy and showing the workspaces as they are organised under the parent "Lines".
However where users have NOT explicitly been given access to a Line they could be restricted from the ability to browse around the other menu sections of that Line for things like Strategy, (Roll-up) Releases, Notes / Knowledge etc.
Without this, it is not possible to share workspaces out to other teams (or even external 3rd parties) without exposing information you do not want them to see in the parent Lines.
This would be helpful to us, too. That way not everyone needs to see all things but only what they have been provisioned to see.
