Aha! provides a fixed set for Status Categories - Not Started, In Progress, Done, Shipped, Will not do. Since workflow customization allows user editable statuses, the status categories should also be customizable.
The article for configuring workflows and statuses (https://support.aha.io/hc/en-us/articles/202148073-Configure-layouts-statuses-and-workflows) has a section on "choosing" status category but does not talk about adding custom status category.
For our workflow, I need Ideation, Development and Release as the status categories but Aha! currently does not allow that.
This would be a game changer when it comes to automation between our features board, and keeping stakeholders informed at what stage their request is who submitted ideas through the ideas portal.
Configure the Status categories will help us to create reports and group status in a business meaningful way. Please consider it as a quick win for all the people who have left a comment.
Thank you
We have a use case where we added an initiative status of "on hold", but there is no relevant existing Status Category that would correspond to this status.
I have an executive level report where I aggregate status to the status category level. It works EXCEPT when I have a cancelled or on hold project. Cancelled -> Will Not Do (which isnt very elegant as a status) and On Hold -> Blank. Even having a 1:1 mapping for those two would be sufficient.
This could be useful to order status as a board by building a pivot chart with status as the value but ordered by status category (i.e. replace the current categories with 1, 2, 3, ...). The only other way I can see to do this at the moment would be to edit the statuses themselves to be numbered (i.e. '1. Under consideration', '2. In design', etc.). Maybe I'm missing something but I would really like a board. I know this is kind of Aha! Develop, but I only want it for a pivot table for reporting, not to do a Jira/Trello-style thing...
Agree with the initial description the ideator wrote, it would be helpful to differentiate the major status categories especially between ideation and development.
As I expand the use of Aha roadmaps, the inability to create custom epics status categories is a real obstacle. For some audiences (e.g., product & development teams) I want to show roadmap items with Epic Status along the workflow we've designed; however, for other audiences (e.g., executives), I want to show customer categories (e.g., PM Defining, In Design, Under Development, Under Test, Released).
Hello,
we would like to have this category customizable and display it in the Card (board view) if needed. Also display it in the Workflow view as a phase/category over the statuses.
I take the advantage to congratulates all Aha team for this product.
Cheers,
+1 for this, we have statuses that don't really fall in to any preset categories.
I am surprised this functionality doesn't exist in Aha! already, frankly; Especially since Aha! is made up of PMs!
i will add that 'at risk' is in intended to be in the same category as any other 'in progress' items seems like a miss. I don't want to present out all my different development statuses to my leadership, but i need to be able to call out 'at risk' as different than other 'in progress' items. has anyone else come up with a way to work around this?
Absolutely need this. I wish to automate my Ideas status and my feature statuses with different levels e.g. in dev / shipped / in progress etc'.
+1- We certainly would love additional categories for ideas that are either:
Reviewed but not in progress yet (considered)
Reviewed, but not feasible and thus in long-term backlog.
Both categories would warrant configurable intervals at which the idea should be reviewed again.
Is there anyway we can at least add an "Under Consideration" status category? I'm trying to create a comprehensive bug doughnut chart to show that we're increasing the number of shipped bugs and decreasing the number of bugs we're not yet working on; however, right now there is no status category for anything that is "Needs Review" or "Likely to Implement" or "Future Consideration" which seems like a huge gap.
This is not one of our near-term priorities based on other, more impactful, items on our roadmap. But we will continue to monitor this idea for further feedback and consider it for the future.
hi guys, any update on this?
Can we get an update on this? work arounds are painful and slow.
Surprised we cannot already do this - its definitely required. And not hard. Needed ASAP.
This, in my opinion, is an absolute must!
Agree - our use case associated with Ideas. We have ideas that we want to indicate that they are In Review to map to Waiting Review, Needs more Information. a well as being able to distinguish our statuses related to roadmap that are more of a planned state and not indicate that they are In Progress as In Progress if often understood to be 'working on it'.
We would need to have an intermediate step in the idea status categories - In review, where the idea is not in progress yet. Unfortunately, the lack of this category affects a critical feature we're using for customers submitting ideas, the email notifications for idea status changes. If we leave the category blank for this intermediate status, it does not send any emails when the ideas is being reviewed. Are there any delivery dates in plan for customising status categories?
