Notifications based on a specific status

We would like the ability to customize our notifications based on transitioning a Feature to a specific status.
During the course of our Feature refinement, our Features are passed between various roles e.g. Product Manager > Architect > Product Owner etc. We are utilizing the Features > Workflow Kanban boards to facilitate this, however it would be nice to be able to receive a notification if a new item drops into my column (specific status).

Thanks for the response. As we operate Kanban in this area, we use a pull mechanism as opposed to a push - as such we have WIP Limits for individuals which operate using a particular status - as such we cannot simply assign the work to them as it would result in a bottleneck in our process. We also have 'communities' managing statuses e.g. our Product Owners - who review and assign item out of the backlog based on the required field of expertise - pre assigning this would could result in it being given to the incorrect person.
