When I click "save as" but click the "x" before saving, it still saves the view even though I cancelled the request. It should not create the new view if I cancel before clicking save. |

This is a function of how saving existing reports works in Aha! software. Clicking "Save as" effectively copies the report. So as you noted it is saved immediately.
Go to Roadmaps, List, Views (dropdown), Save as, click the "x" in the top right of the modal pop-up, go to saved views, you will see the saved view which you never actually saved.
