As a Product Manager, it would be really cool to have a list of, say, 10 or so, standard responses that I can choose from when reviewing ideas because it will save me a fair amount of time.
We have plenty of screen space to include a list of canned responses. Upon selecting a standard response, the text could be copied into the response field where I could customize it at my discretion.
I envision an area is Settings where I can add/edit/delete canned responses.
Automation for ideas is now included in two subscription plans: Aha! Ideas Advanced and Aha! Roadmaps Enterprise+. We also added the ability for automation rules to post an admin response to an idea based on a status change.
We will keep tracking this idea for a prompt to manually enter comment, with response templates.
There are lots of valid use cases where a canned response would be helpful: If I need to alert customers to the fact that there's a Beta available or if I want stakeholders to reach out to a partner regarding future updates. In a lot of these cases, the instructions are going to be the same from ticket to ticket. Instead of having to keep the copy-pasta externally, it'd be nice for it to be saved in a menu that I can just select from. Even better if I can do this across multiple workspaces and keep the answer consistent across the company.

I agree that canned responses could be a slippery slope, especially if they are overused. In retrospect, I rescind this idea. I must have been dealing with a flood of ideas in my idea portal when I had this crazy idea.
Disagree. Canned responses don't serve the customer. It diminishes the transparency in the portal and discussion.
