When I am using the search to find an idea to merge the current idea to, it is showing me both merged and unmerged ideas.
The whole point of merging is to combine all the similar ideas to see it in one place. If i'm merging to something that is already merged to something else, then i'm essentially making a tree of ideas which I don't want, and then cannot see the full list of duplicate ideas from the single parent idea.
Love it!
I would like the option to filter out ideas that were merged into other ideas when doing a general search (whether merging to another idea or just searching for an idea).
Even if it doesn't hide merged ideas in an idea lookup, but provide some type of visual that identifies it has already been merged and the "parent" Idea number. I find myself constantly jotting down numbers to verify they have been merged because I can't tell from the lookup what's been merged, and which was the "parent".
If I’m merging an idea, please make it easier for me to find the likely parent. Some ideas:
As I type to find the target idea to merge into, show me the ones
With the most votes
That are at some stage past "open for voting"
That I recently had open
Don't show me ideas that have been merged themselves.
Would also be useful on the related ideas, it makes sense to relate to the merged idea that you would be tracking and assessing to implement, rather than to the ideas merged into it.
