Let's be honest, the text editor in aha is a tad temperamental. I have a standard format for how I flesh out ideas, which means I spent a lot of my time repetitively typing out the same content, formatting it, adding the same tables etc. It's incredibly tedious.
I would think having the option to pick from a list of default templates when creating a new idea would be a simple enhancement that would assist a broad range of your customers.
Please don't mark this as "already exists" for custom fields - it's not the same thing.
New template to help customers share their ideas with you 💡
Add structure and consistency to the way customers describe their ideas. The new idea description template makes it easy for customers to provide all the right details so you do not have to chase them down.
Looking for exactly the same thing (Template) right now. Custom fields is not the solution.
Having a template would efficient our flow by reducing the need to keep flagging ideas as "pending- need clarification..."
For folks on this thread, you can create custom fields for ideas and have different idea forms for the workspace / portal. But, not quite the same as a template and not quite the same as having even default text template within a text field.
Agree whole-heartedly! Having this is essential to support process standardization and mitigate missed information and delays. I input a similar idea here : https://big.ideas.aha.io/ideas/A-I-10857
Agree with all the comments especially Hannah Jackson. We have started coming across quite a lot of people submitting ideas without some basic information. Having a template would reduce the need to keep flagging ideas as "Tell Us More..." and speed up prioritisation and discovery. You can already do this in features, why not ideas?
Totally agree with Hannah Jackson. I want the exact same thing.
Adding custom fields adds cruft to the data model that may not be actual data. I want a format from submissions that's very easy to get if the fields hold pre-defined text that persists. Then all submitters have to do is fill in the template without having a bulky and brittle custom field layout. It's more approachable and more flexible.
Template capabilities in Ideas would massively reduce the need for custom fields.
In my use case, I want the idea creator to create a robust "description" to eliminate the need of an admin to hunt them down for all the details that are needed for prioritization. A template would help as it would keep the creator in the flow of aha, while also prompting them to develop a useful business case guided by questions that downstream contributors need for validation and vetting of the idea. Example template
1. What is the customer problem?
2. What is the current work around?
3. Explain the benefit to the company?
4. Are there any risks?
I don't want these as separate fields because they really are just details of the idea description.
Looking for exactly the same thing right now. Adding a custom fields is unwieldy.
