Add original estimate field to card and detail view for Initiatives, Master Features and Features

I would like to be see the original estimate in addition to the remaining estimate on work items to have a view of what has been done vs what was originally estimated.

While currently we can aggregate estimates from child work objects, once the children complete the work and it is burned down to 0, all that is visible in the UI is the work remaining which does not provide context of the current state.

original estimate is an available field for reporting and views, but not an available field on layouts for cards, initiatives and work items.

It would also be great if I could default select for a workspace to "use [*] estimates" so when an initiative, master feature or feature was created it would aggregate estimates from child work items without having to go in and check the box every time. (*it appears Initiatives only allows for manual entry of estimates currently)

    Thanks for this question - you are correct!

    This update will allow for five estimate fields to appear on cards:

    • Initial estimate

    • Detailed estimate

    • Work done

    • Work remaining

    • Best estimate

      • Dynamic field that displays the best available estimate - initial or detailed

      • If only an initial estimate is available, that estimate is displayed

      • If only a detailed estimate is available, that estimate is displayed

      • If both initial and detailed are available, the detailed estimate is displayed

    We expect this update to ship sometime this month.

    Since the change from Original Estimate to Detailed Estimate and the addition of Initial Estimate. Only Detailed Estimate is available for custom card layouts. I'm assuming this Idea will include making Initial Estimate available for custom card layouts.
