What is the challenge? |
We need an easy view of which features, ideas, etc. have been linked to a relationship custom field. For example, if I use an organizations custom field on an idea, I can see the list of organizations and select them. But when I view the organization's record, it will not show the linked ideas. The same is true when linking a feature to a persona with a persona custom field on the feature. Today I need to run reports to see this information. |
What is the impact? |
Save time and allow more people to see the record links without being a reports expert. We need to drive people to link specific records and leveraged Record Fields. It's way too cumbersome to ask PMs to link those separate things individually via the Menu >Relationship Function when there are these easy-to-use record fields available. |
Describe your idea |
Expected behavior when adding a Record field to a layout is that when records are selected, a relationship link is created. This applies to each of the relationship custom fields. It would be helpful to have the fields establish a true record link that then shows on the Related tab. For example, when an organization is selected from a custom field, create a related relationship to the organization. Then when you view the organization page, the Related tab would show all those ideas. |
100% Agree. Having a one-way "reference" works for some use cases, but not all.
One solution would be to make each field configurable to either reference (current behavior) or link (what we want)
