The default feature template appears when adding a new feature from everywhere in aha except when creating features from the story map view. The description appears blank. This is a problem because we are transferring our story maps into aha and love the quick and ease of doing so from the story map screen, but we don't want to lose the template for every feature that is created.
I also perceive this to be a bug. Templates should apply anywhere a feature can be created to drive consistency. We build user story maps for larger projects and this would be a blocker to our consistency if the template cannot be used.
I agree that the feature template should be applied anywhere a new feature is created in Aha! to set us up for completing the feature information consistently after we have the user story map finalized.
Echoing this 100%. From a user perspective, this appears to be a bug. There is no indication when setting these templates that they are only used when using the modal pop-up to add features/activities, and the context explicitly implies that any and all new features/activities will use the template. Our use case is almost identical to the above, except that we're using the user story maps feature from scratch and creating them, not importing from elsewhere.
