Allow custom fields and their options across data types

For example, I created a custom field for "Customer" with choices for the feature data type. Ideally I only have to create this custom field/choices once and it'd work for all data types. Currently I'm forced to recreate the customfield/choices for initiatives, ideas, etc. as well, which is quite cumbersome to set up and maintain
