Pivot report: I want to compare two records and their related data in 2 columns

I want to compare 2 epics in side-by-side columns. In the rows I want to see attributes of the 2 epics to allow for easy comparison. Today, I can create a "horizontal" view of this data (epic name in rows, data elements in comments) but would prefer to view this vertically for ease of reading and comparison. When attempting to "switch" rows and columns, the rows are displayed in their own distinct columns, which does not make for an easy comparison.
