Hide items associated with time periods when archived

Currently, even though a goal or other item is associated to a time period, when the time period is archived, the goal or item continues to show in dropdown lists for selection which is both cluttered and makes it difficult for users to select the appropriate items.

There is a filter to hide these from the details and workflow views, but no option to hide from the pick list options so they continue to show in an ever growing list.

Interestingly, the issue appears to have corrected itself. The archived goals/initiatives are still on the workspace overview tab, but no longer in the dropdown menus.

Thanks for sharing this idea! Quick follow-up question. Are goals in archived timeframes displaying in the standard Goal's field? Or, are you referencing goals in a custom field?

I ask because I'm unable to recreate the issue you described above. Archived goals do not show for me. Thanks for your help!

A quick addition here is there is no filter to prevent previous (archived) goals from showing up on the workspace overview. A workaround would be to name every goal/initiative/release with the time frame in the title so they can be differentiated, but this seems to be contrary to the spirit of having timeframes in the first place.
