My idea submitters do not show up in the list of watchers for features. This is a major issue for me because I wont be able to notify them of changes to something they are interested in.
Subscribers to ideas are automatically notified when the idea status changes. The idea should be linked to the feature either by promoting it to a feature or by linking it to an existing feature. The idea status changes automatically based on the feature's status, so notifications will be automated for you. See How idea notifications work.
Hi Jessica,
Only users within Aha! can be watchers of features. Ideas portal users are not the same as users of Aha!. If you want a portal user to be able to see the status automatically you can either add them as a Viewer in Aha! (unlikely if they are your customer) or you can create an idea and link it to the feature. Then ask them to vote on that idea. Voting on an idea makes them a subscriber to that idea and thus they will automatically be notified of status changes that are tied to status categories of "Already exists", "Will not implement", "Planned" and "Shipped". If you need help setting this up, please email support@aha.io and we'd be happy to help.
In response to the Admin response - This is not what I am suggesting. If I want to tag someone who has submitted ideas in the past on a feature there is no idea for because I know they will appreciate it then I have no way of doing so.
