While we may have a plethora of statuses for workflow purposes, it would be super helpful to be able to distill them down to the basic statuses for reporting and analysis purposes and for communicating status to the executive level. This idea is very similar to APP-I-2551 except that it does not call for the ability to alter the built-in status categories. I understand that there may be logic built into Aha! that would cause editing status categories to be a show-stopper. I can also see the challenge if/when a status category has not been assigned to a status. Off the top of my head, I would suggest that a category be required for all statuses, but it would also be OK if a report using Status Category included items with no values for that attribute – just as we can have features with no master feature.
