Please can we have the ability to filter the Roadmap view by the critical path. I often get requests asking what are the 'must do's' and it would be great to be able to click one button to produce a gant chart with just the critical path features. It would also be nice to be able to 'mark' a feature as a critical path item even though it may not actually be on the critical path. Then it would be really simple to pull a chart that should all the critical activities and any other that were of significant value / interest.
This is possible today. You can create a custom field and use it to denote features which are on the critical path.
On the roadmap views, you can then filter based on the values on this custom field.
You can read more about custom fields here: https://www.aha.io/support/roadmaps/strategic-roadmaps/customizations/custom-fields
This essentially does not exist. The workaround does not count.
Please consider this> In order to win over project management toys like MS Project, we need AHA to be capable of automatically showing critical path in GANTT chart.
Whilst is might be possible to manually add a tag to activities and then filter, this is a very manual and cumbersome approach. In addition, it requires constant manual maintenance for plans, which might be changing. Is it possible to create the functionality such that where a plan has the necessary dependencies created, Aha would automatically color code/highlight/tag those activities on the critical path?
The idea here is to identify the features that are required to conclude the project. It should look at dependencies that are needed to move forward. The critical path is the line that connects those dependencies. Feature that don't have dependencies are less critical for timing of the project. I agree this should be visible in the Gantt, and identifiable for filtering.
We have just done a trial and something our Project Manager asked me is if it is possible to do critical path analysis in Aha!, as he currently can do path analysis with MS Project. I understand you can manually flag items as being on the critical path but I think what Alex and my PM are after is a way to highlight the critical path activities automatically. Thanks
Hi Amit -- yes, using the solution suggested here you could create a report and save it in your Saved views. This would provide you with quick access to it when needed in the future. This article covers saved views in more detail. Thanks!
Sorry I do not think this answers the original request and should not be closed as already exists. Alex specifically asked for a critical path view by selecting some kind of report. Does this exist?
