Having the ability to calculate the progress of an EPIC based on the linked features remaining estimate is great. This helps provide a very accurate progress based on the work remaining in our feature records.
We currently provide progress updates at the initiative level to our leadership team. We measure the progress of our initiatives based on the progress of the connected records, which in our case are features. While we can currently update progress from completed features or an average of the feature progress, we do not have the option to update progress at the initiative for the feature remaining estimate.
This will help us help us greatly if we could calculate the initiative progress based on feature remaining estimate. We have implemented a solution through a worksheet to calculate initiative progress as a percentage, but we would like to use the existing progress abilities instead.
I totally agree. I find calculate from features is less accurate (it brings the average % of the feature underneath), and the most accurate is to use remaining estimate. Which today is not available to Initiatives and goals.
I do not want to use a spreadsheet to calculate that, as described above, it should be part of the tool configuration. So currently I have both the initiatives and goals progress calculated from features while the epics and features progress calculated from remaining estimate. And that brings some discrepancy..
