Allow idea automation to include submitting organization as a condition
What is the challenge? |
When an idea is submitted or changes status I want the account team members associated with the customer that submitted the idea to be notified (or added as watchers). This is not possible today, and as a result I have to notify all account teams, which means statistically the majority of idea creation/change notifications will not be relevant to them. |
What is the impact? |
As a result, the account teams get notification fatigue and are less likely to open a new idea notification quickly (or at all). As a result they are not kept up to date on ideas related to their accounts. |
Describe your idea |
Add a condition, when creating an idea based workflow, that leverages the associated organization of the idea submitter to allow me to have specific actions trigger based on the organization that submitted the idea. Ideally I could choose multiple organizations (as account teams are responsible for multiple customers) so I don't have to create a rule per customer. |

I'd love to use this in my deployment as well, very similar to the use case described above.
What is the challenge?
I have an internal Ideas portal that is accessible to my employees. Some managers within my organization want to receive an email notification when their employees create a new Idea. Automations don't allow me to use Idea Created by User (or more preferably, as in this request Idea Created by Organization) as a condition for triggering an action.
What is the impact?
I have created a List Report that is available to Managers for their specific teams, and is sent to their email once per week. Even in this list report, I need to use Idea Created by User and call out each individual user. In my instance I've already done the legwork to assign every User to an Organization that represents their function in the business, so if I could filter on Idea Created by Organization my life would be easier and change management as new Users are added would only need to occur once.

Allow me to use 'Idea created by Organization' as a conditional field in Automations and in List Reports.
