When going into the features roadmap view I am trying to see my parking lot features that have dates so that I can effectively plan work that is upstream from development. |

Similar situation here. I have a couple of fixed release moments (not periodic though and a variable release period). In the Gantt view, I want to see my parking lot so I know what's in there, what the proposed/desired dates are so I can add this to a corresponding release (in case there is room left).
