Different Feedback Forms (and sections of Idea Portal) for Bugs vs. New Ideas

Add ability to have a different set of questions for Bugs vs. New Ideas. If it's a bug, we want to ask additional questions like OS, Software version, etc. If it's a new feature, that information isn't necessary. Having a separate area for Bugs vs Ideas would also be nice.

    The idea portal improvements coming later this week should allow you to do exactly what you need - with a bit of configuration.

    You could create a separate product for bugs, add custom fields for ideas to that product which are specific to the bug information you want to collect. Then in your idea portal add both the product for ideas and the product for bugs. When users submit a new idea they will be asked first which product they want to use - you could name your products "Ideas" and "Bugs". Then the submission form will reflect the custom fields from that product.

    When you promote an idea to a feature you can choose the product the feature should be created in - so at that point you can merge all of the work into a single product.

    As Chris mentioned, this is possible by creating separate products/portals for your bugs and ideas. Today's update to the Idea Portal also allows you to fully customize all of the terminology on the "idea portal" so that you can also customize all of the language in the portal to meet your needs on the bugs and ideas.
