I have a solution A which is made up of features X and Y from products B and C respectively.
However, X and Y may also be features in solution B.
With the recent update, you’re able to view master features along with features on the feature board.
Therefore, I want to create master features in my solutions which I can view along with the features in my products.
But given the above scenario, I can only link X to either a master feature in A or a master feature in B.
I need to be able to link it to more than one master feature.
Thank you for your idea. While we can see value in particular cases for linking a feature to multiple master features, allowing this would cause other issues and limitations that may not be apparent on the surface. For example, it would no longer be possible to calculate master feature estimates from the related features.
The following work arounds could be used depending on your use case:
Add a master feature record relationship custom field to capture secondary master features for a feature. This would not be shown using the new master feature label but could be added to your feature card as text on the card itself.
Use record links to connect the feature to secondary master features
Based on the explanation above and the available workarounds, we do not plan to implement this idea. We hope you can understand.
