I have a segment of 8 features in one release I want to copy into another release (we use these as tasks that we frequently clone into new releases. But I can't do this currently without:
1. Copying the entire release (all features)
2. Deleting 90% of the features
3. Moving the remaining 8 features into the release I want
4. Deleting the now empty existing release that I copied
Thank you for the idea. This is possible today by multi-selecting features on the Features board and selecting Copy features. This creates a copy in the current release with [Copy] prepended to the feature name. The status of this idea was out of date. You can learn more here: Copy, move, or bulk edit features.
Hi Fernando, our recommendation would be similar to what Max mentions. You can create a template release in the parking lot which contains the 8 features you typically include in each release. Then when creating a new release you can clone that "template" release. You can find more detailed guidance in this article. If this does not provide what you need, another potential option would be to export the 8 features to CSV and then import them into a new release. Given the options that currently exist, it is unlikely that we will implement a bulk copy option specifically.
These suggestions and the current solutions are just a bit too cumbersome. If I want to copy like 8 issues and modify them slightly I think it might be useful to be able to copy features specifically without a template. We do have phases but again I want to copy features within a phase.
I'm not 100% sure of the exact steps, but you can probably do this with a bulk edit, or you could perhaps make a "template" release that has these 8 repeating features.
Have you considered using release phases instead of features, which you could them use as a phase template? (I don't use phases much, but it might apply here.)
