We create new products and releases for those products. Over time it may become apparent that the product, in fact, needs to be split up into additional products. Then, the releases must be moved.
Each release contains phases and milestones with dependencies and/or tasks. We would like to be able to move an entire release to a new product and maintain the integrity of the phase/milestone details as well as the features and requirements.
This is why moving features by bulk edit on the feature list screen is still painful (they have to recreate all of the phase/milestone dependencies and tasks).
This is essential for using Aha as a Project Management tool as well. When projects change ownership or where they live it's a pain to move everything and loose the history.
Moving releases / features to a new product is a painful process, as is re-establishing Jira links. I'm surprised this is not seamless. It has caused me a lot of tedious work in trying to create new products to make my roadmap more granular.
Is there an ETA on this? You should have the ability to move any record between products in the system. Thanks!
Have created pretty in depth release, and now decided this will become its own product. I should be able to move the release to another product. This should function as a dropdown the same as it does on a feature.
Austin, while I agree the article you provided gives you options, it does not address the ability to move a number of releases from one product to another product.
Hi Michelle, there are a couple options outlined in this article for copying releases or moving features to a new product. Thanks!
Is this available yet?
