At this point new to-do's email notifications takes affect from general notification settings and user either gets lots of email or none until to-do's due reminder sends email notification.
Our need is that new to-do's should either always send email for assigned users after creating / assignment or to-do's should have separate settings that users could adjust how they wish new to-do's reminders to be sent. (Instant, daily etc..)
This is big issue for us since to-do's are used to manage ideas that hasn't assigned to dev team but we need feedback from dev team members (planning, estimates etc..) If we don't get correct notifications users don't react these before due date reminder is sent.
Thank you for your idea. To-do notifications are currently handled outside of the general notification settings. An instant email is always sent to the assignee when the to-do is created, assigned, or updated. Reminders are also sent as the due date approaches.
I voted for this because I only want a notification if a task is assigned to me. I had to Turn off all Notifications because I was receiving way to many which filled my inbox. Now I'm missing tasks because I don't know they were assigned to me.
We tested this again after your reply, if user notification setting participating is set browser only or off user don't get notification email after creating / assigment. Notification email is sent only as due date reminder. So my opinion is that this still follows general notification settings.
