Email domain filter should support wildcards

When filtering email reports, sometimes I would like to be able to create a search that will automatically add any new domains that a customer may generate so as their users onboard to the tool, the report is already set up to capture their activity. Currently, as the reporting section is a select box, that domain needs to already be present for me to capture them.

    Thanks for the details!

It sounds like using a NOT filter might capture other domains that you don't want to include in the future, not just subsets of acme in your example.

We will continue to monitor this idea for community feedback. Thank you!

Julie, I'm actually trying to do the opposite.

I want to pull only a subset of domains (hence the need for a filter) and I know the customer has multiple teams at the same domain, but with a different country code domain (for example acme.com, acme.fr and acme.de).

I would like to build the filter once (Acme) and capture all the other domains at the same time. Currently, because it is a select list - I can only select Acme.com and have to wait until the customers join to then be able to add acme.fr and acme.de to my list.

    Thank you for the idea!

Summarizing to make sure I clearly understand your use case:

    • You have a list of email domains that you do not want to include in your report, hence needing a filter

    • And you would like to ensure that new domains are captured in the report

If that is correct, you can create an advanced filter using "None" option. This would allow you to select which domains not to include and any new ones will be automatically included going forward. To learn more about advanced filtering, please see our filter article.
