It would be helpful to have a way to restrict contributors from deleting features, or to have a special permission to delete features. With our company workflows, deleting a feature should rarely be considered, as we don't want to lose the information on a feature, we would rather close the feature or defer it. This way if the topic comes back up in discussion we can see the history and why we chose not to do an item.
Thanks for sharing this idea. Currently only product owners and contributors can delete features. Would you like to specify specific people who can delete features or restrict it further to product owners-only, for example?
This would be helpful for not just JIRA but other integrations; ADO, for example.

Thanks for clarifying! We will continue to monitor feedback here.
