today() in custom worksheet fields

I agree with the comments here. Worksheets are part of the Advanced plan and we get fewer functions than on the standard report where today() is available.
We are a recent adopter of Roadmaps and Ideas Advanced, but this is a 5-year-old idea, so I wonder if it will ever come.

Shall I give up and look for other options?

FOR four years folks have been asking for this. It should get to the top of the priority stack based simply on age. Yes, we need () function to calculate values for a lot of reports.

We desperately need this functionality. We want to create a worksheet field where I can auto-calculate the current stage of the feature based on today's date - if one of the field's date value is > today() then set value to X, otherwise, set it to Y. I can't do this currently and we're having to rely on a script runner to auto-populate a custom field.

As part of our prioritisation method we use Weighted Shortest Job First, one of the values we use in this calculation is the number of months between today and when the Epic needs to be completed in order to realise the value, where the shorter the time, the greater the score until the date has passed and it drops to 0. To do this we need the today function. At present we have only been able to use the list view but it means we cannot put the WSJF score on the Epics nor use the in built prioritisation functionality of Aha! with a scorecard, as both would need the today function to work in Worksheets on the Epics. As such it is difficult to use properly as a prioritisation tool. As such this functionality would be incredibly useful.

It's incredibly frustrating that this is not possible in worksheet fields...if Aha can calculate "Days to complete by" as an out-of-the-box function, why can we not reference the current date in other calculations?

We need the today() function to calculate YTD and PVA values for a lot of reports.

I'm trully puzzled why this is not available and has not been implemented in a year. This is one of the most basic functions which is essential to making dynamic worksheets using dates. We need this funcitonality implemented ASAP. Currently our executvie-facing reports are requiring our team to manually update related fields and hard code them with the current date. Our reports are no longer dynamic.

I also need the today function to work in worksheets. I have ROI formulas that need to know if this Master feature will ship in the current year.
