JIRA Epic % complete to Feature Progress

The Feature Progress field is a very effective visual of Feature % done, but there is no option to map the Progress from the JIRA Epic record using the  Epic % complete value which is derived from the number of completed stories for the Epic.

Our Initiative Dashboard reporting looks to show Initiative Progress based on the number of Shipped features. We also show the features tied to each initiative and would like to display an accurate Feature Progress bar, but instead have to display the Feature % Complete field instead.

Additionally, we like to show the Progress bar on the Feature card layout as well as the Feature layouts, but have to manually enter the %.

Please note the October 16, 2019 announcement where this capability appears to be available yet in fact when I tried to use it and contacted Aha Support, was told it is not something Aha provides. Seems to me this announcement is either factually incorrect or there is a defect preventing it's use.

it is now possible to map the epic percent done field to get real-time visibility into the progress of epics in Aha! as work is completed in Jira. Using this new mapping, progress will be calculated based on the number of user stories that are completed in Jira.

Check out the blog post for more details.

Would love to see a feature like this. I'd like to see a % of stories completed for an EPIC and % of EPIC's completed in an Initiative based on the acceptance criteria being completed for stories and EPIC's not based on time.

As a manager, having a "Feature % Complete" field "{{task.epic.percentcomplete}}" would be useful in allowing me to automate emails to my team with updates with regards to how close we are to completing an epic.

I agree.  have a % done field that calculates based on stories completed would be amazing!

From Austin's comment: A % done field that calculates based on stories completed

This would be very useful to us, as the integration on the time tracking isn't foolproof and we don't necessarily need to know at such a granular level.  However, a percentage complete based on the number of stories out the door would definitely add value for us.

This idea would make my life much easier too.  We really need to be able to sync the Epic % complete field into Aha so that our reporting matches across both Aha and Jira.

Hi Austin, it would be helpful to get information from % done field that calculates based on stories completed. We give regular updates to our customers and executive committees (we send regular updates using notebooks). Much of the progress done and status is what these 2 audiences are looking for. Today, it is hard to show on Aha without that detailed information that primarily comes from Jira.

This idea will make my work much easier. I use a customized list view for a reporting purpose, but currently I don't have any ways to automatically show the actual progress of JIRA Epic in Aha! So, I open each Epic in JIRA and copy the progress to Aha! by hand. I appreciate if this work is automated soon.

Hi there, thank you for your idea. There are actually two fields on Jira epics that track % complete:

    1. A time tracking field that calculates % complete based on time logged

    2. A % done field that calculates based on stories completed

Currently, it is possible to map to the first. We do not yet have specific plans for mapping to the second, but we will definitely monitor feedback on this idea.
