Allow "click and drag" to select multiple records for bulk actions

It is great that I can select multiple records using the "command" key (Mac). I would love it if I could use my mouse to "click and drag" to select multiple records, similarly to how I would select multiple objects on a whiteboard. This would be really useful in places like the features board, workflow boards etc.
