Allow pivot and chart reports to be sorted by values

While I can sort by values in a list report, I am not able to do so in a pivot report like I can in Excel. I want to develop a clean report that groups ideas past due for a review by user. To do so, I need to develop custom calculations off of idea submission date, status, etc. in a list report -- when I clean this up in a pivot or chart view, I cannot sort my data by count of ideas by user. This makes for a visually unappealing chart.

A calculated field could be a value -- for instance, I can run an 'if' function that returns a value of '1' if true and '0' if false. In Aha, I would not be able to sort on this calculated value column in a pivot table -- in Excel, I would. Would be nice to have more 'Excel-like' reporting and 'PowerPoint-like' deck capabilities.

Thank you for the screenshot! In the report you have built you would actually want to sort the rows. So if you click Sort fields in the rows section you will see an option to sort the rows by the calculated cell value. It will look like the screenshot Kelly shared.

The reason you cannot sort within calculated cells is because each cell will only have a single value (so there is nothing to sort inside of each cell.) I hope this helps! If you need additional guidance we can ask our customer success team to reach out. Thanks!

And it does not look like you can sort on a 'total' values column in a pivot table. You can do this in a list, but I want summarized views, which is why I'm using a pivot v. list

I'm told 'calculated values cannot be sorted'

Thank you for reaching out. Are you able to configure a total count in your pivot and then use that to sort your rows, similar to this screenshot?
