I am trying to add a private portal for our sales employees to submit requests on behalf of customers. This means every time a customer wants the same idea, I need a way for the sales employee to add another vote.
A workaround I am thinking of is to have them add a comment for every additional request they get but it doesn't capture the popularity of that feature as well as votes.
There is now a better way for internal teams — such as sales and support — to capture votes and feedback on behalf of customers. We call these proxy votes.
When a proxy vote is submitted, your colleagues can select (or create) the customer organization and contact that they are representing. And you can require that custom fields be filled out as well.
All of this information is available within Aha! on the idea's detail page and in reporting. This gives product managers a more complete understanding of what customers need.
Your colleagues who submit proxy votes will be subscribed to automatic updates on the ideas.
All proxy vote information is internal-only. Customers cannot view proxy votes and will not receive any notifications.
Enable proxy voting in an internal portal and invite your colleagues to start capturing customer feedback.

Love this idea. We need to have certain users that are able to vote on issues multiple times and then other 'public' users that are only able to vote once
Good that you have shipped this feature but a limit of 10 is very prohibitive, we have tens of thousands of users, so the ability to add 10 votes per support team member for example is not going to last long
this would be very helpful but we need to let them note who customer was
This will be incredible helpful for our organization. Right now, our internal support team is constantly logged feature requests on our customers behalf. If we only allow one vote per support team member, then we're unable to gauge the demand for this feature.

We also need the ability for our BDM to vote multiple times on behalf of various customers. We would not be keen to let the customer be added to the portal at this time - therefore are restricted when using the BDM's same email address.

Agreed - this would be great!!
Couldn't agree more. This would be very helpful until we're ready to take our idea portal public.
