Attach a link

In addition to being able to attach files, it would be helpful to be able to attach links.  Many times, relevant information is a web page instead of a file.  Today, we can only embed links in text fields, such as Description and Comments.

I put this under Account Settings because it applies to all object types (initiatives, features, requirements) and could be available as a custom field type, but I'm OK with whatever implementation you can do.

Thank you for your idea. This is currently possible using the URL/email custom field type. These fields provide clickable links within the record.

Agreed what exists now does not meet all use cases. I want to be able to attach the link to a file in a shared drive in my org and I cant use the google integration to do that and if there are multiple files you have to start just dropping them in comments which is messy.

What already exists today is a field for one link only.  That is synonymous with having the ability to attach one file.  Therefore, what exists today, is not the same thing as the idea I submitted.  I believe there is value in being able to attach multiple links just as it's possible to attach multiple files.
