For ex: if we have a dollar value (numeric custom field) associated with each release, let's say it's the release cost - I would like to be able to add up all release costs per each product (sub-totals) in the same product line, in addition to the grand total we see today.
Thank you for your idea. This is not currently planned on our roadmap but we will continue to monitor customer feedback here. One recommendation for accomplishing this in the meantime would be to use the new export to Excel option for pivot reports and perform the calculations in the spreadsheet.
This is a significant reason (and "running total accumulation") we are not able use Aha! pivots to eliminate spreadsheet export and analysis steps in our budget & planning process, leading to an "adoption" challenges. We "roll-up" product line budgets and activities related to "funded" Initiatives served by multiple workspaces, and it would be ideal to use subtotals during planning and throughout the course of the Initiative life span. The running totals/accumulator function would really help with setting/tracking priorities within a budget or capacity constrained product or product line.
Thanks for continuing to share you use cases. How would you like to configure the pivot report?
I was able to get a subtotals by product with the following configuration:
Rows: Release name
Columns: Workspace name
Cells: Release cost
Calculations
Within cells list as: Sum values
Summary row/column: Total
This may not be what you had in mind though.
This would be great to have, as pivot tables are used for showing groups of info. Subtotals would make sense. We'd like to utilize the real time reports in Aha, and not export to Excel and modify each time the report is published for management review.
Having a subtotal by a group of items would be extremely helpful. You can use a filter and select each grouping to get the total. We are using pivot tables for financials more and more.
Yes! We just identified this too! Exact use case as described. And in response to the admin, we are trying to avoid exporting to excel and using the reports directly from Aha so that we have live data in the reports or the notebooks and reduce creating multiple docs that provide the same information.
