Notification on new ideas

Personally I love this and need this. I would love to be able to designate some reviewers of categories to be notified when new ideas are posted in their categories. I don't think it will take that much to implement this. I have to agree, sad that it still isn't available after 5 years.

It's disappointing to see this idea was submitted 4+ yrs ago without implementation. Our department started utilizing the aha portal a month ago and there is already a lot of frustration over not being able to immediately review, comment and/or vote for others submissions. (Our admin first reviews before they are visible to all) Currently, we are required to check back to see if the new idea has been reviewed so it is visible to all. Having this idea in place would allow us to wait for an email notification when new ideas are available for review so we aren't wasting time checking back to see if there are new ideas to review or worse, forgetting to check back and voting so our product development team knows what enhancements the team would find most impactful. Brandon Renkart ideas comment and ideas posted on 9/11/2019 are what I'd like to see implemented.

Many of our users are requesting to be notified of new ideas so they can vote on them. This is a huge painpoint for our users because they want a digest of what's new and to be able to make a bigger collective impact while reducing their burden by voting on similar ideas as they come in. This is actively hurting our product team's ability to truly see the impact of our users ideas since they are simply getting lost in the cracks.

Please consider implementing this because it would solve problems for both us and our users.

Also, https://big.ideas.aha.io/ideas/APP-I-3726 may be more of a requirement of APP-I-4303 for the ability to "subscribe to new ideas via product"

This is critical for my company, our process is that managers approve their team's ideas (level 1 filter) so they need to get notified for any new ideas from specific users.

Just want to add my voice to this ask. Our company is starting to use Ideas and our team members would like to get notification of new ideas coming in. This helps the team to vote on important ideas and see what is being suggested and requested. It would be great to see this pulled in for deeper consideration in an upcoming release.

For our product managers who are receiving ideas from stakeholders, we would like the ability to send email notifications or a weekly digest of new ideas hitting a particular product area in the portal, so that ideas aren't missed, as measured by reduction in response time back to the idea submitter after an idea is submitted.

Also a need here!

I'm not one that likes to be flooded with email. However, as our Idea's portal is new and is being adopted (and I'm not an owner) I'd like to be pinged (daily, weekly) when there are new ones.

Watchers is not the solution - at least for my specific problem. I want my entire company to see when new ideas are created so they can vote and decide if they want to be watchers on a specific idea but they do not want to get all the updates for ideas they have not specifically decided to watch.

We launched our first ideas portal yesterday and one of the questions that came up was could customer get a weekly update of the new ideas. rather than having to remember to go and look through the portal.

Definitely a need for this feature!  Would probably drive usage of my portal up by double digit percentages.

This would be a great feature to facilitate collaboration,  engagement and feedback! In fact, I just spoke with a member of our sales team today they said they never know when new ideas are added so they can vote on them and that they forget to check the portal since they don't receive an email reminding them to review the portal. They mentioned that if they received an email they would gladly spend some time reviewing new and updated ideas.

Some useful notification/subscription preferences could be:

* What products do you want to subscribe to?

* What types of changes would you like to be notified about? (e.g. new ideas, new comments, so on)

* How often do you want to be notified? (e.g. real-time, daily summary, weekly summary, so on)

PMs are telling me they don't get notified at all when a new Idea is created & they are auto-assigned. This is basic functionality for any new record created and assigned by someone else.

(i.e. if I assign myself, I don't need a notification but if someone else assigns a ticket to me, mentions me, adds me as a watcher - I should be notified)

Any progress on that feature?

  The problem is that many users may submit an idea but no one is notified of it. It's hard to ask people to review Ideas Portal, vote and leave a comment if they are not notified that new ideas are logged.

We have 2 watchers (Aha! users) added to the Ideas->Overview page but neither receives an email when a new idea is added

Yes, please consider this new feature.  The problem is that many users may not submit an idea and never get to the Idea Portal.  We as a product team miss out on their collectively weighing in.

I support this initiative as well! We have just launched an Ideas Portal however nearly all of our users are public creators, not Aha users. As a result, when a new idea is submitted to the portal, the public creators are not notified. I fear this lack of email notification that a new idea has been created will hurt our adoption of the Ideas Portal significantly as the only way now for these users to learn when a new idea has been submitted is for them to regularly, in an unprompted manner, check the Ideas Portal. It would be great if we had a setting to turn on notifications for these public creators so they received an email whenever a new idea has been submitted to the Ideas Portal.

Would be nice for idea portal users to specify which product team's ideas they'd like notifications for, as opposed to "all" new ideas company wide.

This is currently possible for Aha! users but not for ideas portal users. Aha! users can add themselves as watchers on the Ideas -> Overview page to be notified of all new ideas. I've made a small modification to this idea to specify idea portal users as opposed to Aha! users.
