As a user, it would be very convenient if I could upload a file with the same name as an already attached file, and instead of creating a second attachment with the same name, it would create a v2 of the attachment. When clicking on the attachment, the newest version would open, but an option could be provided (perhaps in the same interface as folder management?) to view prior versions.
I know that Aha! potentially already allows adding attachments from other file repositories that allow versioning, but my group is endeavoring to centralize as much as possible to Aha! It is clear the functionality already exists to store both versions of the document; it would just be nice to have them stacked in the UI with a version number based on the rank of the attachment ID (no user-defined versioning - each upload is a new version).
Thank you for the note. As you had mentioned, we do have storage system integrations with (Google Drive, Dropbox, Box and OneDrive) which allow files to be automatically updated as they are updated in the respective storage system.
You mentioned the additional workaround via user-defined versioning as well, which some of our customers also use.
At this time, based on the available workarounds and current priorities, we are unlikely to make updates in this area. We hope you can understand.
This is already done in Notebooks, so the architecture must exist, just have to roll it into file management. I know it's not as easy as it sounds but it would add to the enterprise-ability of the tool.
