Drag-and-drop in Pivot tables

The alphabetical arrangement of columns in a pivot limits their usefulness. I could create powerful summary reports that replace typical Excel-based portfolio summaries if I was able to drag-and-drop to customize the order of columns/rows.

Yes, this! We would like to create our high-level roadmaps for initiatives with pivots using timeframes. If master features could be moved from one timframe column to another without having to open the drawer it would be a very valuable addition.

I would like drag and drop functionality for a pivot report I created with Initiatives across products by time frame. Dragging and dropping an initiative into a different column would update the time frame for that initiative.

Thanks Peter. We appreciate the additional information to help us better visualize what you might be looking for. We've updated your idea to Likely to Implement, while also adjusting it to be most related to the Kanban board updates. 

We're likely to make updates in that area though are unlikely to make specific updates to the Pivot reports (in terms of drag and drop capabilities there). As this idea progresses, we'll post status updates here.

I'd really love a Kanban for Initiatives (as requested here).  But since we don't have that yet, I've built a Pivot table with Initiative statuses as the columns, Products as the rows, and cells made of the Initiative name and Initiative rank.  See attached (we call Initiatives "Epics").  I then sort by Initiative rank ascending.  If I could drag-and-drop in a Pivot table, then I could drag an Initiative...

• from one column to another to change its status
• from one row to another to change its product (unlikely)
• within a cell to change its rank (this might not be possible since rank seems to be based on some combination of value and effort)

I've also created a Pivot table for Features to try to work around the limitations of the Feature Workflow interface - I don't want the assignee swimlanes (as requested here) and I want to customize the "cards" (as requested here).  This table has the Feature statuses as columns, Products as rows, and cells made of the Feature name, Feature rank, and assignee.  I also have the Epic name added to the data set but not connected to a pivot table part; I use it to setup a "color by" in the table view settings.  Again, I sort by rank.  If I could drag-and-drop in a Pivot table, then I could drag a Feature...

• but not from one row to another since Product is set at the Initiative level (so I set the row headers to swimlane style)

The Pivot table feature, by the way, is awesomely powerful and a great addition to Aha!

Can you elaborate on which colums/rows you would like to see in a kanban board? This is something which has been in the back of our minds for a while, but there hasn't been another combination (beyond status/assignee) that has become a dominant request.
