Make the user persona custom field more user-friendly

Currently, I have a user persona custom field on my ideas portal. When adding new ideas, I get a dropdown of the user personas, which is fine. But once the idea is displaying for other users to see, it simply lists the selected user persona like this: ["John Smith - Consumer"]. This is not very user-friendly.

I'd love to see the user persona name NOT in the brackets (which looks intimidating). Also, I'd like it to be a link which opens up the user persona in another window. That way, as my portal users are considering which ideas to vote for, they have more information about for whom the idea is intended.
