Navigation by User Type Merged

We would like to provide access to many pages within Aha to our users that are customers. However, we consider many of the feature areas to contain information we would prefer to keep confidential, such as strategy. Would love to be able to use the navigation settings to pare down the viewer role to just those pages we are willing to share.

Thanks for the response. The struggle we have with Notebooks is that they are either unsecured and open to the internet, or they have a pw that all recipients must have, or they require a user active in Aha to access. I’d like to be able to share the URL with a user and have them only access the notebook in a secure manner. So if the user type viewer could be configured to only be able to access certain things I could control access in a manner that would be acceptable. Further, I had also posted an idea to be able to share notebooks with Ideas Portal users as that would also provide me with secured access to only the content I want the customers to see. That idea was similarly dismissed or acknowledged as unlikely to implement. So I have no viably roadmapped solution to my issue as yet.
    Regards,
    Alan

Hi Alan, we considered the request to be a similar one that it was merged into, but we have unmerged the two ideas.

We aim to be responsive to customer ideas - with the goal of getting back to people within 24 hours so that we can be transparent about what areas we are likely or unlikely to make updates, to help our customers better understand the direction we're headed. In regards to this specific request, we've received feedback from the community in this over time, and was leveraging that information when looking at the idea.

One workaround you might consider is to leverage Notebooks. Depending on the areas that you would like to be visible to your Viewers/customers, you could create Notebooks with information relevant to each of your customers. As you make updates in Aha!, you can ensure that your Notebooks are automatically updated as well (so that no additional work would need to be done). By doing so, your customers would only have access to the specific areas that you would like to see.
