Export product hierarchy

When you have many products, product lines and product owners it is beneficial to be able to easily present distribution responsibilities in other presentation tools when managing your company. You have export function for users, but it is hard to turn that into a products with roles overview.

Our products do not have a fixed number of entities in the product hierarchy. I find the view in the product dropdown in the main screen is exactly what I would like extract for report purposes but can't. The list reports do not do this for me because of the variable number of Product Lines.

Possibly, I'm not sure exactly what you mean.

In the attachment, if I checked the box next to Fredwin Software (Demo), then I would like everything under it to automatically be checked as well. It should work in reverse too, if I uncheck a box, then everything under it becomes unchecked.

This way I can go to the very top Product Line and check everything (or uncheck everything) and quickly select or deselect the Product Lines and Products that I need to report on.

Would having a column that was just the immediate parent of the product (or product line) be helpful?

I've done that and that is typically what I do.  For very large portfolios, that is a HUUUUGE number of checkboxes to click. (That is better said in a Trump voice...)

Alternatively, when creating a report if I had functionality where I could check the top Product Line box and have all the children PL and Prod checked, it would be much easier.

One simple way to export your list of products, and information about the hierarchy, is using the Reports -> List screen. Create a report of the products. I have attached an example of the columns you could select.

Then under the "Export" button on the right side of the screen you can export this list to CSV.

Are you looking for something more than this?

Wondering if there is a timeline for this? My products are multiplying like rabbits in the springtime!
