Would like to be able to add Tags to Initiatives (in addition to the existing capability of adding tags to Features, Master Features etc.) We use tags to track Change Control and need to be able to do this at the Initiative level as well.
Thank you for your idea. We do not currently have plans to include the standard tags field on initiatives but we will continue to monitor customer feedback on this idea. In the meantime it is currently possible to add a custom tags field on your initiatives. This article provides more detail on adding custom fields.
Noting we added a custom "Initiative Tag" field using the "Tags" objects to get around this, but it has to be maintained separately from the standard tag library and this is less than ideal.
It seems odd that the tags used for features and epics cannot be used throughout the rest of the Aha platform. It seems like a miss, but we'll deal with a workaround for now.
I need to track things like "this was on an RFP for x client" and sometimes those items are existing initiatives, not just ideas or features. It'd be so much easier to have the single tags field be used on any roadmap object.
One reason for wanting tagging of initiatives relates to Brian De Haaff's article in LinkedIn on Initiatives, Epics and Features. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/initiatives-vs-epics-features-brian-de-haaff
We are trying to use the kanban workflow view strongly with Initiatives. Being able to quickly label and ID an initiative as Product or Business (for example) will help us immediately determine what aspects of our processes need to be activated in the workflow (e.g., a significant product initiative might need a Lean Canvas before an Analysis of the effort starts where a business initiative may need only a simple requirements outline and project plan before moving into the Backlog).
As a workaround, we are having to create multiple goals as "tags" at the company level to categorize and filter initiatives that we would have wanted to tag.
