We run a series of pre-release programs that only some customers/partners are enrolled in. Members of a pre-release program should only see the ideas for the programs they're enrolled in vs seeing all ideas for all of our pre-release programs.
Right now, I have to create a separate workspace AND ideas portal for each pre-release program. This allows me to control what the users see. However, its also a huge pain for the following reasons:
I have to work with our IT group to provision SSO every time, which delays us by days/weeks
I have to customize ALL of the idea portal elements every time, which is error prone (email templates, custom terminology, etc)
If I want a custom URL, that also adds delay because I need to get a new CNAME and also SSL cert
Users have a bad experience because they can't just go to one portal and see all of the ideas they should have access to (whether they are GA produces or in a pre-release program)
Ideally, I'd like to just point ALL users to a single portal and they see what they're supposed to see based on a set of rules I define.
For example, I should be able to control if a user sees a specific product/workspace in the portal based on email domain, username, etc.
I'd also like to have similar control over the idea visibility using rules as well. Right now, we have an "internal" ideas portal and a "public" ideas portal. I'd rather just have a single portal and allow user who are considered "employees" or "partners" to have a visibility toggle.
Also, please make a distinction between "partners" and "employees", they're not the same to us and we need to be able to control access separately.
This would really be amazing and level up our use of the Ideas Portals!
Having the capability to control who sees what portal in a single workspace would be greatly beneficial. I too am having to create multiple workspaces which is messy and unorganized. Having this function in public and private portals would be wonderful.
