Quick add items while in Notes Merged

In addition to your great ability to reference anything in Aha in a note with the "#", it would be great to be able to quick add an item in the note, ala Confluence.  With Notes, you have a leg up on the Roadmunks, ProductBoards, etc. of the world, and this is a terrific tool for running meetings and quickly referencing team decisions.  The ability to quickly add items while writing in the note via keyboard shortcut would make meetings flow all he more easily in Aha.

As I have just joined, forgive me if this is not only a feature request, but an existing feature I have simply not found yet!

Thanks guys!

Thank you for the additional details!

To summarize, add the ability to create a new record from within a note that then links in the note in one step. Either improving the # functionality or a different but similar shortcut style. Got it! Thanks!

In the interim, curious if you have tried using the + icon at the top right corner of your account? This enables you to create a record quickly from anywhere in Aha!, including notes. You would then need to grab the record's ID and use the # for existing records to add it to the note.

    Hi Julie,

Thanks for the quick response!  Happy to elaborate...I am trying to migrate off Atlassian Confluence to you guys...After a lot of research, I think you handle product planning, idea gathering, prioritization, etc. in a superior way to wiki tools like Confluence, which are essentially just "flat" documents that don't contain data records that can be updated, closed, completed, etc.  I was also hoping to move my team from Jira to another tool called Clubhouse.io, which there is a feature request for integration, but since that's not released yet, I will probably keep with Jira.

I ran meetings in Confluence with my 4-person Product team, and we frequently came up with new ideas in-meeting.  It was a bit of a chore to create a new issue/item with the Confluence/Jira macro, where you'd first write out some text, then highlight and add to Jira.  But, that was well worth the time spent as it was very useful to trace back to a specific meeting as the source of an idea.

With your great Notes feature, I can replicate the meetings I ran in Confluence in Aha.  This may be the biggest feature that will bring me to choose you guys over a host of other Product Management tools I'm evaluating, none of which have this feature.  For me, the ability to in the note BOTH reference existing items, which you have now, and create new items, provides the ultimate canvas for a team to run a meeting and hash out whatever is necessary.

One way to handle this I've seen in Clubhouse that I really liked is when you have the drop down to relate to a story, you are offered the option to create one.  I'm attaching a screenshot.  You guys could emulate this by adding a similar button on the dropdown with the "#:"

I hope this is helpful and would really love to see this functionality come online!

    Thanks for the idea!

Can you please clarify what you mean by quickly adding an item into a Note? As you mentioned, Aha! enables you to add existing records within a note using # reference today. Are you referring to formatting keyboard shortcut keys? Or something else? Super curious what else you'd like to see so we can review and prioritize accordingly. Thanks!
