Who would benefit? |
Read only users |
What impact would it make? |
I would not be misled to think I am able to contribute to a field which I can't change |
How should it work? |
Today, I do not have access to edit fields in Aha. The way the UI works today though, I can hover my mouse over a field and it indicates that the field is a text field with an open box over it. When I click on it, the field expands and I can place my cursor on the text in that field. I can even use arrows to move my cursor between characters. I am however, not able to type any characters in this box as I have only read access to this field. My expected experience is that if I can't edit the field, I should not be able to have my cursor interact with the data. I should not see a text box or be able to expand it and move my cursor around in the data unless I have the privilege to edit that data. This UX comes from what see and experience in every other app I can think of in this world. I'm not sure why Aha behaves this way. |
Thank you for your feedback. The reason this is possible is that you are able to highlight text and add comments inline. This is to improve collaboration -- as reviewers will often times have feedback. We do understand your feedback though and will consider ways to make it more clear what is possible and not possible for read only users. Thanks!
